Bridgnorth - Timber Frame Restoration

T&D Design and Build Ltd recently completed extensive timberframe repairs to a historic property in Bridgnorth. The building had sufferedfrom long-term weathering, timber decay, and previous inappropriatecement-based repairs, which had led to structural deterioration and moistureretention within the frame.

Our works involved carefully removing decayed timber elements andsplicing in new seasoned oak sections, traditionally jointed to match theoriginal construction. Defective infill panels were removed and replaced withbreathable lime render panels, finished with multiple coats of limewash tomaintain the building’s historic character and improve long-term durability.

The completed project has restored the structural integrity of the timber frame while preserving its heritage appearance, ensuring the building remains both stable and true to its original form.
