Over time, sections of external timber had deteriorated due to rot and weathering, leaving defective areas that needed repair while maintaining the original profile and finish. Our team carried out careful splice repairs, restored the damaged sections, and redecorated to match the existing appearance.
The Brief
The client required defective and rotten sections of timber to be removed and repaired without disrupting the character of the existing joinery. The repair needed to be long-lasting, visually seamless, and finished to match existing paintwork.
Our Solution
We completed the works using a traditional splice repair method combined with modern repair materials to ensure durability and a high-quality finish:
- Removed all rotten and defective timber, cutting back to sound material.
- Spliced in new timber sections, carefully shaped to match the existing size, profile, and detailing.
- Used Repair Care system to fill minor imperfections and defects, creating a smooth, stable surface ready for finishing.
- Prepared and redecorated repaired areas, matching existing coatings and colour for a consistent finish.
Result
The timber joinery was fully restored with a seamless repair that blends into the original detailing. The finished work improved both the visual appearance and the long-term durability of the timber, helping protect the property from further water ingress and decay.
