Blandford - Structural Rectification and Cornice Installation

Project Overview
During refurbishment works, an issue was identified with the structural integrity of a dormer roof. The problem was discovered prior to the installation of a new decorative cornice, allowing corrective action to betaken before finishing elements were applied.

Issue Identified
Upon inspection, it was found that supporting roof timbers had previously been removed. This had caused the dormer structure to drop out of alignment compromising both its stability and the accuracy required for subsequent decorative finishes.

Solution Implemented
To rectify the issue, new structural timbers were installed. These timbers were carefully positioned and securely strapped into place, ensuring they were aligned plumb and reinstated the correct structural support to the dormer.

Cornice Installation
Once the structure had been stabilised and alignment restored, the decorative cornice installation proceeded. The cornice was installed in sections to maintain precision and consistency across the affected area.

Finishing Works
Following installation, the cornice was fully decorated, completing the restoration and achieving a high-quality finish that aligned with the project’s design requirements.

Outcome
The early identification of the structural issue prevented potential defects in the finished work. The corrective measures ensured both the structural integrity of the dormer and the successful installation of the decorative cornice, delivering a durable and visually accurate result.
